Special category data
Immigration work sometimes involves information that UK GDPR treats as special category data, such as health information, or information about ethnic origin, religion or political opinion contained in evidence you provide. Where that happens we rely on the condition permitting processing necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or on your explicit consent.
Please do not send us special category information unless it is relevant to your application.
Who we share it with
The Home Office and, where relevant, the endorsing body assessing your application — but only on your instructions, as part of a submission you have approved.
Our IT and email providers, who host this website and deliver our email, under contracts requiring them to protect your data.
Our regulator, auditors or professional advisers, where we are required to allow access.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for marketing purposes.
Where your data is held
Our website and email infrastructure may process data outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on standard contractual clauses with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
If you enquire and do not instruct us, we keep your enquiry and any CV for up to 12 months, then delete it.
If you instruct us, we keep your file for the period required by our regulatory obligations and by the limitation periods applying to professional negligence claims — generally six years from the end of the matter — after which it is securely destroyed.
Your rights
To ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
To ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
To ask us to delete data, where we are not required to keep it.
To object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing.
To ask us to transfer your data to another provider, where that right applies.
To withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first at info@ukglobaltalent.uk so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
